Note

The Following stamps are not real stamps.

Maluku Selatan fought for its independence from Indonesia in 1950. Indonesia managed to drive that government in exile in the Netherlands that same year. The only real Maluku Selatan stamps are those overprinted "Maluku Selatan" over Indonesian Stamps. - there are only around 100 of them known, all from the single year 1950.

The government in exile did issue some few stamps, considered cinderellas - not real stamps. (These have a sign "s" with the value of the stamp).

Also, there is a famous stamp dealer, Henry Stolow, who made 'fake' stamps of this "country". (These are unused stamps with the sign "k" with the value of the stamp). These are no real stamps and should not be considered of philatelic value whatsoever.
